The Queen and Price Philip are both great, great, grandchildren of Queen Victoria and King Christian 1X of Denmark, who were known as the ‘Grandmother’ and ‘Grandfather’ of Europe. Of the remaining ruling houses in Europe only Holland has no close family ties with the Queen. We will look at cousins in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Luxembourg and Spain, the former monarchies like Greece, Romania and Yugoslavia and other relations especially in Germany. The last gathering was the Queen’s 90th birthday in 2016. Plenty of time for discussion and to refer to reference books. All-comers welcome.
