Introducing Celtic Christianity

Course: Introducing Celtic Christianity
Tutor: Sister Elizabeth Rees
Start Date: 16th November 2019
Start Time: 9.45am
End Time: 4.00pm
Fee: £56.00 What's included?

We know little about the Celtic saints, since their lives were mostly written long after their death. However, archaeology, inscriptions and early texts provide us with valuable clues. Through lectures, discussion and illustrations, we will briefly explore Celtic Christianity in England and Wales. We shall then examine some early texts: the Confessions of St Patrick, the Life of Columba, and the Life of Elgar, a hermit on Bardsey Island. All-comers welcome.
