Stained Glass is an ancient art of using colour and light to create atmosphere and to depict images and stories. Traditionally, stained glass windows tend to be associated with cathedrals, churches and country houses, but these days stained glass is also used in homes for decoration and there are many ways to manipulate glass to provide colour, texture and pattern. The panel that you choose to make could be for a location your house and will be suitable to either build into a window or frame as a hanging panel.

There will be an additional cost of £20 for materials payable to the tutor on arrival. Everyone welcome.

I came to Somerset to talk about Socrates and his search for the good life. And in many ways I found it incarnated in Dillington House. Here there is a love of beauty and truth. To find a sympathetic venue with an exquisitely rich history, open to all and encouraging debate, creativity and a passion for life is exactly the kind of thing that would have made Socrates smile. I can't wait to come back. Bettany Hughes
