|Lecture:||Secrets of a Crossword Setter with Tim Moorey|
|Start Date:||18th January 2019|
|Under 18s:||£25.00 What's included?|
Following his well-received talk on Dr Johnson last year ,Tim will be sharing some secrets on cryptic crosswords. This could serve as an introduction to his popular weekend workshop starting soon afterwards or it could make for a self-standing, entertaining afternoon. Light-hearted but informative, he will explain how and why he became a setter for The Week, Times and Sunday Times with some amusing insights into a peculiarly British institution.
Includes a three course lunch.
Tim Moorey has 20 years' experience of tutoring adults. He sets puzzles as Owzat and Mephisto for The Sunday Times, The Week, MoneyWeek, The Sunday Telegraph and The Times (Listener). He is a Consultant for Chambers Dictionaries and is the Cluru (Agony Uncle) for the Crossword Club.

In its commitment to the arts and to broader and even peripheral aspects of culture, Dillington House is a beacon of enlightenment in a world of increasing sameness, mediocrity and uncritical acceptance. And there is much to be said for the home cooking too. I unhesitatingly commend it to all who are still intellectually alert.
