This course will introduce you to the drop-spindle and its long history dating back thousands of years BC. You will learn the basic skills needed to spin fibre into yarn using a drop-spindle. We will look at a variety of fibres, their structure and qualities, and talk about their uses for spinning. Once you have grasped the technique of spinning you will hopefully go away feeling inspired to expand on what you have learnt and explore this wonderful ancient craft and produce your own unique yarns.
Spinning with this technique is completely transportable and can be performed either sitting, standing or even on the move!
A very therapeutic craft with exciting possibilities.
The course fee includes drop-spindle and fibres.
