Women enjoyed great success as artists in the 1700s - they painted, sculpted and some enjoyed international renown. Come and hear about some of these women. Rosalba Carriera, Angelika Kauffman and the sisters Lisiewski are just some of the successful women artists whose careers and work we will examine on this study day.

Tutor Information

Angie Smith has a first class degree in Art History and a PhD in Combined Historical Studies. She has more than a decade’s experience teaching undergraduates and taking adult education classes for Leicester University. She is an accredited NADFAS lecturer, has contributed articles to many scholarly journals and has published several books including A Timeline of Art History.
