This course examines the lives and careers of women painters and sculptors who worked in Europe in the 16th and 17th centuries. We will consider the sibjects they portayed and the social context in which they worked. 

Tutor Information

Angie Smith has a first class degree in Art History and a PhD in Combined Historical Studies. She has more than a decade’s experience teaching undergraduates and taking adult education classes for Leicester University. She is an accredited NADFAS lecturer, has contributed articles to many scholarly journals and has published several books including A Timeline of Art History.
