Meticulous style on silk is a traditional Chinese art form, which is more than two thousand years old, and is used to paint flowers, birds, landscapes, figures and animals. This course will focus on painting animals, including a tiger and a dog. During the course you will learn how to draw fine lines, build up colour, layer by layer, and create lifelike animal coats. Once you have gained the skills of the meticulous style of painting you will develop towards painting the subject of your choice. You will also be introduced to the cultural background behind Chinese painting.
Kaili Fu is from mainland China. She graduated from an art university in Eastern China in the early 1970s. It is rare to find a venue - and an audience - so thoroughly dedicated to the enjoyment culture and cultivation of the mind as Dillington House and its visitors. As someone who hasn't lived in Britain for the past two decades, Dillington was also a delightful reminder of the beauties of English landscape and rural architecture. It was a pleasure to speak there and I envy those who can visit frequently.
