By Winter 1917-18 the military junta that now ran Imperial Germany’s war effort perceived a fleeting balance of advantage. American power had yet to be felt militarily. In Russia however the German Army was pushing at an open door and its spare divisions were being redeployed and retrained for a Spring offensive in the West.
Mike’s military history courses in this programme are on the following dates:
18 July, 5 September, 21 October, 6 January, 17 March & 22 May.
Book all six of Mike Shaw's military history courses at the same time and save £4 on each.

As an ex-senior officer he has an insider's view on how both Whitehall and the military make their decisions. He is an expert on how technology and tactics interact - more importantly however, is the way he tells the story!Back to List
I came to Somerset to talk about Socrates and his search for the good life. And in many ways I found it incarnated in Dillington House. Here there is a love of beauty and truth. To find a sympathetic venue with an exquisitely rich history, open to all and encouraging debate, creativity and a passion for life is exactly the kind of thing that would have made Socrates smile. I can't wait to come back.
