This weekend course is aimed at Open University A334 students. The course will cover the study of prose, poetry and drama from Shakespeare to Austen. Special attention will be paid to the material and approaches relevant to TMA04, TMA05 and the EMA questions. We will consolidate what you have learned on the module so far and help you gain new insights. We will be considering texts from a variety of genres in their historical and ideological contexts, as well as the focus of critical discussions.
Tutors: Dr Anna Clarke & Dr Sophie Oxenham
This course is run independently of the Open University.
It is rare to find a venue - and an audience - so thoroughly dedicated to the enjoyment culture and cultivation of the mind as Dillington House and its visitors. As someone who hasn't lived in Britain for the past two decades, Dillington was also a delightful reminder of the beauties of English landscape and rural architecture. It was a pleasure to speak there and I envy those who can visit frequently.
