The city of Persepolis and the petroglyphs at Naqsh-e-Rostam are just two of the sites that we will be examining during this study day surveying the art and architecture of ancient Persia. We will be looking at a variety of art forms produced in ancient Persia under the Achaemenids, the Parthians and the Sassanians. These will include items made of gold and silver, figurative sculpture and fragments of textile that have survived.
Angie Smith has a first class degree in Art History and a PhD in Combined Historical Studies. She has more than a decade’s experience teaching undergraduates and taking adult education classes for Leicester University. She is an accredited NADFAS lecturer, has contributed articles to many scholarly journals and has published several books including A Timeline of Art History.Back to List Make Booking Enquiry
