Adult Education Courses
New for Autumn 2011 - Sign up to the Dillington Book Club by sending us an e-mail to dillington@somerset.gov.uk and we'll inform you of the monthly meetings, what is going to be discussed and how you can book your place. Meetings are incredibly social affairs with a delicious lunch as part of the experience.
Weekend Plus - If you are staying with us for a weekend course, you can extend your stay at Dillington with a light supper on Sunday evening plus bed and breakfast for a cost of £60. Please enquire when booking.
The beautiful surroundings of Dillington House offer the perfect antidote to hectic lives and the extraordinary courses provide the perfect excuse for immersing yourself in something special.
We have been offering adult education courses since 1950 and our track record is pretty impressive. The ever-changing programme provides a vast array of residential and non-residential courses enabling you to engage in informal learning at many different levels, whether you are interested in practical subjects or those of a more academic nature. Except on a certain few courses where a degree of competence is required, there are no entry requirements - you just need an enthusiasm for the subject.
Our tutors are experts in their field and many come with national and even international reputations.
Courses are offered in a range of formats including weekend study breaks, intensive day courses and more leisurely summer schools. For people living locally or if you want to stay with family, friends or in a B&B, you can also attend residential courses on a non-residential basis with fees adjusted accordingly.
Fees are fully inclusive of tuition, meals, refreshments and, where applicable, transport and entrances. Fees for residential courses also include the legendary Dillington breakfast and accommodation in a range of en-suite bedrooms.
